Monica Maldonado
Senior Escrow Officer
Gilbert, AZ
I moved to Arizona from New York in 1997 and began my journey in title and escrow around the age of 20. I initially got my real estate license and gave it a shot, but within the first six months, I realized that being an agent just wasn’t for me—it simply didn’t suit my personality. Instead, I found my niche behind the scenes as a transaction coordinator. Not long after, the title company we partnered with offered me a position, and that’s where my true path began. When the market crashed in 2008, the company I worked for closed its doors. However, I remained rooted in the real estate world, taking on roles with a large bank in their REO department and FHA foreclosure auditing. I later worked with a local HOA company and a new home builder, supporting their sales team. About 9–10 years ago, I found my way back to escrow and officially became an escrow officer—a role I truly love. Outside of work, I’m a proud dog mom to two rescue German Shepherds, Bruno and Bear, who are truly my angels. I’ve been married to my husband, Marcos, since 2004, and we have a wonderful 16-year-old son, Matthew, who recently got his driving permit (cue the nervous excitement!).
